Prior to joining Rider, Berkowitz served as an Operations Coordinator and Head Equipment Manager at Southern New Hampshire University. While at SNHU, Berkowitz oversaw all 20 Varsity Athletic teams that competed in the Northeast 10 Conference. This included the oversight of both equipment rooms in Stan Spirou Field House and Penmen Stadium. His main responsibilities were the issuance and retrieval of equipment, laundry operations, and the scheduling of student managers for teams.  Berkowitz also assisted in various on campus events including all NCAA sponsored competitions, and set up and breakdown of the 2019 New Hampshire Primary that hosted Presidential Candidate Bernie Sanders.

At Rider, Berkowitz is responsible for equipment needs for all 20 of Rider's athletic teams. This includes ordering and issuance of all adidas sideline apparel, inventory and organization of the equipment room and laundry. Berkowitz will also assist in the coordination of athletic events on campus. Outside of his equipment duties he will serve as the liaison for all visiting teams, coaches, and officials. Other duties assigned will be the assistance of proper maintenance and upkeep of all athletic facilities.

Prior to joining SNHU, Berkowitz spent 2015-18 as the Defensive Backs/Equipment graduate assistant at the University of West Florida. In his time at West Florida, Berkowitz assisted the Defensive Coordinator working with cornerbacks, while also being in charge of all football equipment operations. While there, Berkowitz helped the first-year program post a 5-6 record, tying the Division II record for most wins by a first-year program. In his final year, Berkowitz assisted in UWF posting an 11-4 mark and playing in the Division II National Championship.

A native of Freehold, N.J., Berkowitz earned his Bachelor’s degree in History in 2015 from Bryant University and earned his Master’s degree in Education from West Florida in 2018. Berkowitz is a certified member of the Athletic Equipment Managers Association.
