Norm Yacko was hired as Assistant Sports Communications Director in May of 2021, and promoted to Assistant AD for Sports Communications in February of 2025. He most recently worked as the Sports Information Specialist at The College of New Jersey.
In Lawrenceville, Yacko has been the primary sport contact for teams that have won six conference championships, including the 2023 baseball team that defeated 10th-ranked Duke during the regular season and national 10th-seeded Coastal Carolina in the Conway Regional. Twice he has seen Rider featured in SportsCenter's top 10 plays, first with Richie Sica's diving catch in the Coastal Carolina victory that came in as the number one play, and late when Jamir McNeil's three-quarter court shot to beat the halftime buzzer was selected at number eight.
While at TCNJ, Yacko was responsible for coverage of several ranked programs including the field hockey, women's lacrosse, and wrestling teams. During his time at TCNJ, he was responsible for coverage of numerous final four teams and an individual National Champion (wrestler Ryan Budzek). He secured coverage for a pair of athletes featured in Sports Illustrated's Faces in the Crowd.
During his time in the industry, Yacko has been responsible in some capacity of media relations for 28Â different NCAA Events ranging from NCAA Division III Final Fours to NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Regionals.
Yacko earned his bachelor's degree from Rider in 2009.
