Brian Keane is currently in his 25th year at Rider University and was promoted to Associate Athletic Director for Facilities and Event Operations in 2016.  Keane engineers game management for all intercollegiate athletic events held on campus and is responsible for the enhancement, maintenance and scheduling of all athletic facilities. 

Keane has been involved in many capital projects and has made significant improvements to all of Rider’s athletic facilities that have totaled over 10 million dollars.  Keane provided insight in to the construction of Ben Cohen Field in 2010 and recent improvements in 2020 which included a new state of art FieldTurf surface.  In addition, Keane has supervised several improvements to Alumni Gymnasium over the past 10 years which includes the construction of the Basketball Practice Facility, offices and locker rooms for men’s and women’s basketball.  Also, Keane was involved in the resurfacing of the outdoor track and the construction of the Mike Brady Track Building. 

While at Rider, Keane has also been involved with numerous NCAA and Conference Championships.  He served on the Local Organizing Committee of the 2012 NCAA Rowing Championships and 2011 NCAA Wrestling Championships.  In addition, Keane was on the planning committee of the 2009 NCAA Women’s Basketball Trenton Regional and the 2006 1st and 2nd Rounds of the NCAA Women’s Basketball Championship.  Keane has also been the Championship Director for many conference championships including the MAAC Outdoor Track and Field, Northeast Conference Field Hockey and Colonial Athletic Association Wrestling championships while serving on planning committees of numerous other championship events.

Keane has served on various sport committees over the years including a term as Chair of the MAAC Tennis Committee along with terms on the MAAC Men’s Basketball Committee and MAAC Track and Field Committee.  In addition, he serves on various other committees including the Rider 5K Walk/Run Committee and National Girls and Women in Sports Day Committee.  Keane is certified by NCS4 in Sport Evacuation by the National Center for Spectator Sports and Security and is a member of NACDA/CEFMA. 

In addition, Keane oversees equipment operations for the department and is responsible for the ordering of all equipment through Rider’s shoe and apparel supplier, Adidas.  Keane also serves as the sport administrator for the men’s and women’s tennis teams and men’s golf team. 

Keane is as an adjunct professor at Rider University teaching a masters level course in facilities management. 

Keane received both his undergraduate and master’s degrees from Rider University where he was a member of the varsity tennis team.   He currently resides in Doylestown, PA with his wife, Kerri and son, Jackson.
