Michael Ehrenberg joined Doug Potkay's staff prior to the 2013-14 season as a volunteer assistant coach. He is a former assistant coach at The College of New Jersey and Hopewell Valley Central High School, where he specialized in coaching doubles. At HVCHS, Ehrenberg helped guide the boys team to the Central Jersey Group 3 championship and the girls team to the Central Jersey Sectional Finals.

After graduating from Johnson Regional in Clark, NJ, as the programs all time wins leader, Ehrenberg played three years at the University of Delaware.

As a senior player, Ehrenberg has been ranked #1 in the NJ District for Men's 45 play and as high as #4 in the Middle States section. 

He has won numerous Middle States Singles and Doubles Championships and had a national ranking of #58 in Men's 45 Singles in 2007. He also won a Gold Medal in Men's 50 doubles in the NJ State Senior Championships in 2011, two Mercer County Doubles Championships and a Cryan Tournament Mixed Doubles Title.

Ehrenberg has served as captain of the Middle States Men's 45 Intersectional Atlantic Coast Cup Team and a member of the 55+ ACC and Bruno Cup Teams.

He was awarded the USTA-NJ Senior Service Award in 2013 and the James E. Cryan Tennis Tournament Lifetime Achievement Award in 2016. In 2019, Coach Ehrenberg reached the National Semifinals at the USTA Men's 45 grass doubles championship in Philadelphia. He was awarded a National Doubles ranking of #11 in the country.
