Kaitlyn Dermen joined Rider Track & Field as an assistant coach in March 2021. Dermen is a 2018 graduate of Stockton where she had an outstanding career. She was named the New Jersey Athletics Conference Rookie of the Year in 2015. She was a three-time USTFCCA All-Region selection and was a four-time NJAC Champion in the pole vault. Dermen finished in fourth place in the NCAA Division III Championships in the pole vault to earn All-American honors. She was a team captain in her senior year. Dermen was also the Stockton Female Athlete of the Year in 2018.
She most recently was an Assistant Coach for Caldwell University.
“It was very important to us in this search to find someone with pole vault expertise to come in and really work closely with our pole vault athletes,” said Hamer. “Coach Dermen was highly recommended to us and we are really excited to see what she can do with a talented group of vaulters that we have. She has had great mentors and worked with some really good coaches and she comes to Rider with a really deep knowledge of the vault.”
