Letterwinner for both indoor and outdoor track and field and was a New Jersey State Sectional Champion as a thrower…during the outdoor season her senior year, was 12th at the New Jersey Meet of Champions in the shot put (39’0.75”) after a sixth place finish in the NJSIAA Group IV meet (37’8”)…placed fifth at the Group IV Championships in the distance throw (122’4”)…during the indoor season as a senior, won the shot put at the NJSIAA Group III/IV Sectional Meet (38’0.5”) and was the Super Essex County Meet Champion in the shot put (35’4.5”)…runner-up at the Essex County relays and the NJSIAA Group IV Championships in the shot put…as a junior during the outdoor season, won the NJSIAA North 1 Group IV title in the shot put and also won the shot put at the Big Blue Relays…runner-up at the Essex County Relays in the shot put during her junior year indoor season…personal: daughter of Benedicta Akpahu…high school activities included the yearbook staff and she also lettered as a cheerleader.
