Brett Davis

  • Title
    Mental Performance Advisor

Since 2022, Brett Davis has worked alongside Rider University student-athletes as a Mental Performance Advisor, helping student-athletes strengthen the mindset, habits, and consistency required to perform at a high level.

A certified Mental Performance Mastery Coach through Brian Cain Peak Performance and ACE Health Coach specializing in behavior change, Davis’ philosophy centers on meeting each athlete where they are, building meaningful relationships, and integrating mental skills directly alongside physical training. She believes mental performance is not “extra work,” but expected work at this level, emphasizing simple, actionable concepts reinforced through repetition, accountability, and consistency. Her approach blends team workshops, small-group sessions, and one-on-one mental performance advising to support both individual growth and team culture.

Davis earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Health and Exercise Science from Rowan University and her Master of Science degree in Sport Administration from Arkansas State University. She believes both physical and mental wellness begin and end with behavior change; the foundation of the MVP System she uses to help student-athletes build sustainable confidence, resilience, discipline, and performance habits over time.

Employed at Rider University since 2008, Davis also serves as an adjunct professor in the Health Sciences and Nursing program. Teaching, coaching, and mentoring students is central to her work, and she is deeply committed to holding space for student-athletes as they navigate performance, identity, and personal growth. She believes one of the most powerful roles of leadership is helping individuals see beyond their own limiting beliefs, often believing in them before they are able to fully believe in themselves.

A lifelong sports enthusiast, Davis enjoys working across all sports, with baseball, volleyball, basketball, and soccer among her favorites to coach and watch. Outside of athletics, she loves traveling, exploring new cities, and learning about different cultures. She and her husband, Barry, enjoy long road trips often planning them around catching a baseball game, with a goal of visiting every MLB stadium. Family is at the heart of everything she does, and she proudly considers being an aunt to her nephew, Eric, her favorite role of all.
