- Saw action in two games on the mound as a sophomore, both starts.
- Struck out a pair in 3.0 innings.
- Member of the MAAC All-Academic Team.

2020
- Made four appearances on the mound as a freshman, including a pair of starts.
- Had a 5.14 ERA in 7.0 innings with six strikeouts.
- Pitched three innings without allowing a run and striking out two in a victory over Lafayette.

BEFORE RIDER
Was a four-year member of the varsity baseball team at Toms River High School South playing first base and pitching...in his high school career he went 6-2 with two saves and a 2.08 ERA...at the plate he hit .370 in his high school career with three home runs and 28 RBIs...as a sophomore was named to the NJ.com Top 40 Sophomore Players in NJ,  was the Varsity Rookie of the Year and Varsity Bionic Arm...Named to the 2017 Perfect Game Sunshine Northeast Top Prospect team, 2017 WWBA All-Tournament team and Perfect Game Super 25 National Championship All Tournament team,  2017/2018/ 2019 Perfect Game Preseason Underclass All-American teams...missed his junior season due to Tommy John Surgery...was a two-year captain...as a senior was Varsity MVP, Varsity Golden Bat, Varsity Most Dedicated and Varsity Comeback Player of the Year...named to the 2019 Shore Conference All-Division team and 2019 Class A-South Team...senior year was chosen to play in the NJSIAA All-Star 100 best NJ seniors game at Diamond Nation.

Son of Gina and Fred Hartshorn...has an older sister, Vanessa...plans to dual major in business and sports management...all four years of high school he was on the high honor roll/honor roll and he also received four academic letters...Had a cumulative high school GPA of 4.85 and his class rank was 47/354.
