2020-21
- Member of the 2020-21 track & field and cross country teams.
- Member of the MAAC All-Academic team.

2019-20
- Competed in a pair of cross country events – MAAC Championships and the Paul Short Run
- Finished 4^th with the DMR team at the Spartan Invite
- Took 10^th in the 800 at the Collegeville Classic
- Finished 14^th in the 1000 at the Villanova Invitational
- MAAC All-Academic Team honoree

2018-19
- Ran a season-best time of 4:12.38 in the 1500 at the MAAC Outdoor Championships.
- Ran a season-best time of 2:00.85 in the 800 at the Widener Invitational.
- Ran a season-best 8K time of 30:26.6 at the Siena XC Invitational. 

BEFORE RIDER
Was a member of the varsity track and field team and cross country team at Middletown High School North…in cross country, he was named a team captain in 2017 and won a Coaches Award in 2017…was a Shore Conference Champion in the 4x400…part of the 4x400 relay that set an indoor school record…part of the 4x800 relay that won the 2018 Group 3 State Relay…part  of the 4x800 relay that set an indoor school record…part of the 4x800 relay that finished seventh at the Meet of Champions in both 2017 and 2018…holds the school record as part of the Sprint Medley Relay...was team captain during the outdoor season…won a Coaches Award in 2018 and also was a Shore Conference Sportsmanship Award Recipient.

PERSONAL
Son of Darlene and Leonard Zappala…majoring in marine science…has one sister.
