Biography
At Rider:
Two-time Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference All-Academic honoree...Political Science major...as a junior, finished second in the 50 free (20.60) and 100 fly (50.18) and third in the 100 free (45.39) and was a member of the winning (and MAAC record setting) 200 free relay(1:21.45) and 400 free relay (3:00.59) at the 2009 MAAC championships...was also on the runner-up 200 and 400 medley relays...competed at the U.S. Open in Washington in August...as a sophomore, at the 2008 MAAC championships, won the 100 fly in a Rider record time of 49.63 and placed third in the 100 free (46.40) and was fifth in the 50 free (21.11)...was second in the 100 fly (50.34) at the 2008 Eastern College Athletic Conference championships...helped Rider defeat MAAC rival Marist by winning the 100 free (48.43) and 100 fly (51.86)...as a rookie, was part of the winning 400 medley relay (3:25.33) and the third place 400 free relay (3:09.42) and finished fourth in both the 50 free (21.65) and in the 100 butterfly (52.28) at the 2007 MAAC Championships...also placed ninth in the 100 free (47.60)...at the 2007 ECAC Championships was part of four relay teams, finishing second in both the 200 and 400 medley, 11th in the 200 free, 12th in the 400 free...individually he placed sixth in the 100 butterfly...was part of the 200 medley relay team that set the Coppola Pool record (1:35.68) in Rider's win over Lafayette.
At Ruben S. Ayala High School:
Was a two time All-American and Sierra League MVP...a four year varsity letter winner...earned First-Team Honorable Mention in the sport of water polo...two-year varsity letter winner in water polo...Personal: son of Robert and Deborah Player, has an older sister Kimberly.
