LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – The Rider University women's soccer team fell to the Mount St. Mary's Mountaineers by a score of 2-1. With the win, the Broncs fall to an overall record of 1-5-1 while the Mountaineers improve 2-5-2.
The Broncs started the night off hot, as
Tess Ferrie and
Cali Friedel registered shots within the first four minutes of the game while pinning the Mountaineers back in their own half. Ferrie registered the first shot on goal in the 13
th minute, forcing the Mount goalkeeper into action to make the save.
Rider fended off a promising Mountaineer attacking spell during the middle part of the half, as
Ashley Moore was called into make her first save on the night during the 22
nd minute. Friedel logged a shot on goal in the 28
th minute before the Mount held the ball well during another attacking spell to round off the half.
Courtney Carter had a chance on goal in the 43
rd minute, having her shot saved to send both sides into the halftime break scoreless at Ben Cohen.
The Broncs had the first real opportunity of the second half in the 54
th minute, drawing a penalty in the Mountaineers box. After a lengthy review, the penalty awarded stood and
Courtney Carter sent the goalkeeper the other way to score her first goal of the 2026 campaign.
Seven minutes later, the Mountaineers equalized from open play before attacking possessions flipped both ways for the majority of the second half. Mount St. Mary's later scored in the 87
th minute, taking a full three points on the road in New Jersey.

- Rider had nine chances from the corner to the Mount's one corner kick.
- Ashley Moore recorded four saves in the goal, with three in the second half to bring her season total to 41 saves.
- Friedel logged six shots on the night with three of them falling in on goal while Ferrie recorded six attempts with only one on goal.
- Yellow Cards were issued to Carter and Ferrie.
