EASTON, PA – The Rider University women's and men's cross country team placed second and third during the Lafayette Invite.
Women
"We ran a strong race but we did not execute our intended race plan. We need to do a better job of staying together and being patient early in the race. Liz [Fis] ran outstanding today. She missed last cross country season and has come back this year ready to make an impact. It is an exciting start for her."

- Junior Liz Fis provided a great showing in Easton, placing third in the women's 6k with a time of 21:55.5 on the course. Maddie Dischert and Nicole Dauberman notched fifth place and 10th place finishes respectively, posting times of 22:16.9 and 22:49.1.
- Reigning Metro Conference Female Performer of the Week Ashley Doyle finished 1th with a time of 23:03.5 While Olivia Bortz, Riley Servis, and Rebekah Hickey finished in 17th, 18th, and 19th with times of 23:42.0, 23:42.8, and 23:43.0 respectively.
- Kaelyn Barker and Victoria Botte finished in 25th and 27th places, rounding out the race with times of 24:36.4 and 24:59.4.
- The Broncs top-5 logged an average time of 22:46 while notching a spread of 1:47.
Men
"We were hoping for a better team effort today. It gives a bunch to work on moving forward. I thought our top 3 raced very well and executed our intended race plan. We just need to get the remainder of the team engaged in that plan. Santino raced really well today. He has made nice strides over the last few seasons and today was a huge step in a big direction. I'm really excited for him. It was nice to see Matt and Dom back out there racing and contributing to the team."
