Last night, July 15, 2026, Rider Cross Country and Track & Field alumnus Scott Ruskan '21 was recognized on one of the biggest stages in sports, receiving the Pat Tillman Award for Service at the ESPYS. It was a powerful and emotional tribute to a man whose courage, humility and commitment to serving others have inspired people across the country since the tragic floods at Camp Mystic on July 4, 2025.

For everyone connected to Rider Athletics, this was more than a national honor—it was a proud reminder of the lasting impact our student-athletes can have long after they leave campus.

Scott's journey reflects the values we strive to instill in every Bronc: leadership, resilience, selflessness and a commitment to making a difference. While his accomplishments have earned national recognition, those who know Scott understand that his character has always been his greatest strength.
