WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – Women's Tennis earned its first victory of the spring on Sunday afternoon, taking down the Monmouth Hawks 5-2.
Rider kicked off the contest with two victories in doubles, as Lisa Dierick and Kashish Kant scored a dominant 6-1 win, while Anna Bong and Elle Catanzarite earned a hard-fought 6-4 victory.
Four Broncs proceeded to earn wins in singles, with three winning in straight sets. Dierick scored the biggest victory of the afternoon with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Monmouth's Hana McKinney. Chloe Monachelli followed up her tight win at NJIT on Friday with a 6-4, 6-3 win today, and Catanzarite built off a close first set to win 7-6 (7-4), 6-2. Daniela Naves had the closest singles match of the day for the Broncs, ultimately defeating Monmouth's Faith Sadgrove 7-5, 2-6, 1-0 (11-9).
Women's Tennis returns to Lawrenceville for its first home match of the spring against the Delaware State Hornets this Thursday.
