LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. — Women's Tennis fell to Fairfield in their first non-conference match of the season Tuesday afternoon by a score of 4-3.
The Broncs kicked the day off on the right foot in doubles, with Elle Catanzarite and Kashish Kant earning a 6-3 win, as Jolie Kaiser and Anna Bong battled to a 7-5 victory to secure the opening point.
Bong and Lisa Dierick led the way in singles, both picking up three-set victories. After a decisive win in set one followed by a lopsided loss in set two, Dierick came back to earn an impressive 6-2, 1-6, 6-1 decision. Bong dropped the first set in a tiebreak before rebounding to earn a 6-7 (6-8), 7-5, 6-4 victory. The Broncs were unable to capitalize in their remaining singles matches, though several were extended to a third set.
Women's Tennis returns to action Friday at Villanova, before returning home for a trio of MAAC contests beginning on Sunday.
