LAKE BUENA VISTA, FL – Zachary Fisher (Flemington, NJ/Hunterdon Central) and Louie Giovacchini (Windermere, FL/Windermere) each shot three-under 69 and the Rider University men's golf team shot a season-low 283 (-5) to sit tied atop the team leaderboard after the first round at MAAC Championships Thursday at Disney's Magnolia Golf Course. The score represents easily the Broncs' low round of the season, nine strokes better than a pair of 292's. Rider is tied with Sacred Heart atop the leaderboard, two strokes ahead of Iona and Mount St. Mary's (285, -3).  

Andrew Bilson (Lititz, PA/Manheim Township) shot even-par 72, his first round of the season at even par and one off his season-low of 71 (+1) at the Temple Fall Invitational. Jacob Delaney (Stockton, CA/Saint Mary's) was right behind him at 73 (+1), also a stroke off his season-low of 72 (E) at the Battle at Rum Pointe. Joey Lostumbo (Flemington, NJ/Hunterdon Central) also competed well, carding a 75 (+3).

- Rider and Sacred Heart (283, -5) are tied atop the team leaderboard, two strokes ahead of Iona and Mount St. Mary's (285, -3). Manhattan shot even-par 288, with Fairfield (290, +2), Merrimack (292, +4), Canisius (297, +9), Niagara (301, +13), Siena (304, +20) and Saint Peter's (305, +21) rounding out the 11-team field.
- Tadgh Burke (Fairfield) and Martin Hurtado (Mount St. Mary's) are tied atop the individual leaderboard after each shooting five-under 67 Thursday. Iona's Connor Henderson is a stroke back at 68 (-4), while Fisher and Giovacchini are joined by Jeffery Yong of Saint Peter's and Akshay Mandadapu of Manhattan in a tie for fourth.
- Rider paced the field, averaging 4.06 on the Par 4's, while also collecting a round-high 21 birdies.
- Fisher led the field with seven birdies on his round, while Giovacchini had five. Bilson (4), Delaney (3) and Lostumbo (2) also carded multiple birdies.  
- Fisher was steady across the board, playing the Par 3's, 4's and 5's each at -1.
- Giovacchini did substantial damage on the Par 5's (-3) and played the Par 3's at one-under.
- Delaney tied for the top score of the round on the Par 3's (-2).
- Bilson shot the second-best score of the round on the Par 4's (-2).
