EDISON, NJ – Three Broncs swept the MAAC weekly awards on Tuesday afternoon, as
Peter Crespo,
Joe Tiroly, and
Kyle Batt each earned honors for their standout performances over the week.
Peter Crespo earned MAAC Rookie of the Week honors, the first of his career, following an exceptional week at the plate. The freshman's impressive season continued as he launched three home runs, including his first career grand slam in game one of the series against Saint Peter's. Crespo finished the week with five hits and 11 RBIs, highlighted by a standout six-RBI performance in the matchup against Saint Peter's.
Joe Tiroly was named MAAC Player of the Week after Tiroly delivered a standout performance in the series against Saint Peter's, hitting four home runs overall. The sophomore homered in each game of the three-game series, including two home runs in game two. He totaled six hits and 11 RBIs in the series.
Kyle Batt was awarded MAAC Pitcher of the Week, earning the first weekly award of his career. The award came after Batt's stellar collegiate starting debut on the mound during Rider's home opener against Saint Joseph's, where he pitched 5.0 scoreless, hitless innings and recorded five strikeouts in the victory.
The Broncs return to action on Mar. 14 to take on Quinnipiac in a three-game home series.
