LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – Rider University Softball Head Coach
Davon Ortega has announced her team's 2026 schedule, with the Broncs taking part in three early-season tournaments. The Broncs open MAAC play at Iona on Mar. 7, before hosting Manhattan in their home openers on Mar. 14.
Rider opens the season Feb. 13-15 at the Norfolk State Tournament in Norfolk, VA. The Broncs will play the host Spartans twice, while taking on Central Connecticut three times over the three-day tournament. Rider will then head to the North Carolina Tournament from Feb. 20-22 and face the host Tar Heels twice, while playing Appalachian State, North Carolina Central and Princeton once each. Tournament season wraps up at East Carolina, Feb. 27-Mar. 1, taking on the host Pirates and Campbell twice each in the first two days of the tournament, before wrapping it up on Mar. 1 vs. St. John's.
League play begins with a three-game weekend set at Iona, Mar. 7-8, before the Broncs play host to Manhattan, Mar. 14-15. Non-conference doubleheaders vs. Seton Hall (Mar. 17, Herb & Joan Young Field), at Princeton (Mar. 18) and vs. Army West Point (Mar. 21) follow before concluding the month with conference games at Niagara (Mar. 24, doubleheader) and vs. Quinnipiac (Mar. 28-29, three-game series).
Remaining non-conference games including home doubleheaders vs. Penn (Apr. 1), Lehigh (Apr. 15), Central Connecticut (Apr. 21) and Lafayette (Apr. 28). The league slate sends the Broncs on the road for three-game sets at Siena (Apr. 3-4), Marist (Apr. 11-12) and Fairfield (Apr. 25-26), while Rider will host Saint Peter's (Apr. 7, doubleheader), Canisius (Apr. 18-19, three-game series) and Mount St. Mary's (May 1-2).
The 2026 MAAC Softball Championships are scheduled for May 6-9, with the highest-seeded team hosting the entire tournament.
