LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J- The Rider University Wrestling team remained the MACs lone unbeaten as they moved to 7-0 in the Mid-American with a 27-9 win over Clarion. With the win, Rider moves to 7-6 overall and remains perfect at 7-0 in the conference while dropping Clarion to 8-9 and 3-3 in the MAC.
Rider kicked off the dual with a dominant shutout victory for Azeem Bell, picking up his second straight major decision win, 11-0 over Ethan Wiant. Bell scattered a trio of takedowns throughout the match scoring one in each period while also pitching a shutout to get the Broncos an early bonus point win.
Rider went on a run of four straight victories as #32 David Szuba, Tyler Klinsky, and Richie Koehler all got victories to help Rider go up big through four bouts.Â
After dropping the bout at 141, the Broncs would go on another tear scoring victories from 149 to 174 including another major decision by #28 Colton Washleski. Washleski picked up his 10th victory in his last 11 matches and bounced back after a close loss in his last time out. Washleski secured the bonus point victory with a last-second takedown of Suds Dubler to win 15-5.Â
