SOUTH ORANGE, NJ – The Rider University women's swimming and diving team opened the 2024-25 season with a 179-106 dual-meet setback at Seton Hall Saturday afternoon.
The Bronc women won three events in the meet.
Maiti O'Connor (South Plainfield, NJ/The Wardlaw-Hartridge School) kicked off the day with a victory on the 1-meter, scoring 230.02.
In the 200-IM,
Casey McLaughlin (Ramsey, NJ/Ramsey) led a one-two-three finish for the Broncs. She posted a time of 2:18.61. Suriya Pathammavong (Rochester, NY/Churchville Chili) took second in 2:21.89 with
Ava Repetti (Wall Township, NJ/Marine Academy of Science & Technology) finishing third in 2:22.27.
Casey Morgan (Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.),
Megan Smith (Philadelphia, PA/Nazareth Academy),
Chastity Ruatos (Lodi, NJ/Immaculate Conception), and McLaughlin touched the wall at 3:50.00 to earn first-place points in the 400-free relay.
NOTES & QUOTES
- McLaughlin also claimed second in the 1,000-free with Smith finishing third. McLaughlin later took third in the 200-fly.
- Morgan and Ruatos swam two-three in the 100- and 200-back.

Hannah Yemec (Bluffton, SC/May River) took second in the 100-fly.
- On the 3-meter,
Karyn Creelman earned second place with O'Connor taking third.
