LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – The Rider University women's swimming and diving team was defeated by Marist, 178-109, Saturday afternoon. The Broncs fall to 0-3 on the season, while the Red Foxes improve to 2-1.
The Bronc women won five events in the meet.
Karyn Creelman (Mohnton, PA/Governor Mifflin) won the 1-meter with a score of 224.93. Creelman then went one-two with
Maiti O'Connor (South Plainfield, NJ/The Wardlaw-Hartridge School) on the 3-meter, posting scores of 225.83 and 225.08.
Hannah Yemec (Bluffton, SC/May River) won the 100-fly with a winning swim of 59.59.
In the 200-IM, Suriya Pathammavong (Rochester, NY/Churchville Chili) and
Ava Repetti (Wall Township, NJ/Marine Academy of Science & Technology) earned first and second-place points with swims of 2:20.20 and 2:25.48.
In the 400-free relay, Rider claimed first-place points with
Casey Morgan (Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.), Yemec,
Casey McLaughlin (Ramsey, NJ/Ramsey), and
Lea Opdyke (Ocala, FL/West Port) swimming 3:42.81.
NOTES & QUOTES
- McLaughlin claimed second in the 500- and 1,000-free.
- Opdyke took second in the 200-free.
- Morgan and
Chastity Ruatos (Lodi, NJ/Immaculate Conception) finished two-three in the 100-back.

Allison Stewart (Newtown Square, PA/Lower Merion) was third in the 100- and 200-breast.
- Morgan also took third in the 50-free.
- O'Connor took third on the 1-meter.
