MONTGOMERY, NY – Sarah Eskew finished sixth to lead the Rider women's cross country team to third place at the Manhattan XC Invitational Saturday. Eskew and the Broncs were able to keep it going significantly after their last performance at the New Jersey Jam at Princeton.
Eskew led the way at 21:17.0. Jordan O'Neill followed her in 21:42.8 (13th), and Maddie Dischert (21:59.3, 19th) rounded out the Broncs' top finishers in New York.
NOTES AND QUOTES
"The women raced really well today. They executed the race plan really well and ran hard over the second half of the race. I was very impressed with their ability to fight over the last half. The women showed another glimpse of what this team can do this year, and I'm very excited for them."
"Sarah ran a great race today. She was hoping to close a little better over the last 1000 meters but that is something that we can fix as the season progresses. Sarah and Jordan are showing great leadership right now and the team is rising to the occasion." – Rider Head Coach Bob Hamer
- Quinnipiac won the race with four top 10 finishers.
- NYU finished with two inside the top 10.
- Quinniplac's Liv Distefano won the race with a time of 20:56.6.
