Broncs Get Multiple Top 5 School Marks at Rider Invite

Stephens Eskew, and Palmer would all hit top-five marks in school history

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ and CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA- Mariah Stephens Sarah Eskew, and Hailey Palmer would all hit top-five marks in school history as Rider women's Track and Field hosted the Rider Invitational at the Michael P. Brady Track & Field Complex Saturday.

Stephens would jump the second-best mark in Rider history with a new PR of 12.14m. For Stephens the 12.14m mark breaks her previous best of 12.08m which she set at last year's Rider 5-way. The Egg Harbor Township native's day would not end there as she would go on to win the 100 Hurdles with a time of 14.68.

Sarah Eskew would also hit a top-three time in program history as she won the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 11:02.04. For Eskew, it also become a new PR previously running a 11:19.72 at the Colonial Relays hosted by William and Mary to open up the year.

Hailey Palmer would round out the top marks in Rider history finishing 1st overall with a time of 57.15 in the 400m. The 57.15 time is a new PR for Palmer and also is the 5th best time in Broncs' history.

Elsewhere in Virginia, Oliva de la Torre Coca would get an ECAC qualifying mark with a time of 2:11.92 in the 800m at the Virginia Challenge. De la Torre Coca would round out the great duo performances in Virginia as yesterday Teagan Schein-Becker would win the 800m with a time of 2:02.77 which also stands as the all-time outdoor Rider record.

QUOTES AND NOTES

"Mariah was not happy after the hurdles and she took that out on the triple jump today. Great athletes find a way to bounce back after adversity and Mariah did exactly that today."-Rider Associate Head Coach Brett Harvey

"Sarah has a had a great sophomore year on the track and continued that today.  She ran really patiently and when she made her move she made it decisive and never gave an inch."-Rider Associate Head Coach Brett Harvey

"Lydia really dominated the 400 hurdles today.  She wanted to make a statement and she did." -Rider Associate Head Coach Brett Harvey

"Hailey ran a great 400m.  She controlled the race, ran really smoothly, and executed the race plan perfectly.  She's grown so much this year and it's really fun watching her continued development."-Rider Associate Head Coach Brett Harvey

-"Oliva ran a really nice race today. I believe she pushed a little too early and didn't have enough over the last 50 meters to finish as strongly as she desired. It still was a really great effort." Rider Head Coach Bob Hamer

Rider will turn their attention toward the 127th Penn Relays and the TCNJ Invite starting on Thursday April 27th
