EDISON, NJ – Rider University freshman pitcher Fallyn Stoeckel (Nutley, NJ/Nutley) has been named MAAC Softball Rookie of the Week, the league office today announced. Stoeckel becomes the Broncs' first MAAC Softball Rookie of the Week since Payton Romines and Keegan Zavodnik each earned the honor in the 2018 season.  

Stoeckel was the Broncs' top pitcher at the Campbell Camel Stampede, earning the win in both of Rider's wins on the weekend, while also pitching 1.2 innings of scoreless relief in her Rider debut against Ohio. Stoeckel limited the Bobcats to just one hit in her debut, before earning back-to-back wins over Wagner.

She limited the Seahawks to six hits without walking a batter over the complete-game 7.0 inning effort, striking out seven in the first win. She then allowed just two unearned runs in 3.2 innings of relief, striking out two to earn the second win. All told, she pitched to a 2-0 record with a 1.14 ERA with nine strikeouts in 12.1 innings pitched.

The Broncs return to action Friday, when they begin play in the Boerner Invitational, hosted by the University of Texas at Arlington. The Broncs face Lamar at 11 a.m. ET/10 a.m. CT, before facing UTA at 4:30 p.m. ET/3:30 p.m. CT.
