Broncs welcome a duo of Breen and Thomas to Lawrenceville

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – Rider University Director of Cross Country and Track & Field Bob Hamer, has announced the additions of Tilah Thomas and Dylan Breen to his coaching staff as assistant coaches.

Thomas joins the Broncs from Ewing, NJ and The College of New Jersey. During her tenure at TCNJ, Thomas achieved remarkable success as a coach guiding two athletes to NCAA DIII National Championship appearances, marking a significant achievement as she guided the first thrower from the men's program to do so since 2004 and the women's program since 1991. Thomas mentored 46 AARTF regional championship qualifiers, oversaw 5 NJAC conference champions, and worked with 65 NJAC conference championship scorers. Thomas was a part of seven team NJAC conference championships, and she concluded her tenure at TCNJ with 22 athletes making it on the TCNJ All-Time Top 10 list in addition to three school records.

"We are very excited to have Tilah join our staff at Rider," said Hamer. "She was very successful at TCNJ in developing throwers to compete at a high level, and we are looking forward to the impact she will make at Rider."

Thomas, a 2014 graduate of Monmouth University, ended her collegiate career as the school's record holder in the women's weight throw. She was a key contributor during Monmouth's seven consecutive women's conference championship titles. With the Hawks, she was a five-time MAAC championship finalist, a five-time NEC championship finalist, a 2014 women's weight throw MAAC Champion, and a four-time ECAC/IC4A qualifier.

Coach Thomas is a USATF Level 1 Certified Track and Field coach. She and her husband currently reside in Willingboro, NJ with their newborn son, Miles.

Breen brings his expertise to Rider after an outstanding career at nearby Division II powerhouse Georgian Court University. During his time as a Lion, Breen qualified for the NCAA Division II National Championship in the long jump and won three CACC team championships.

"Dylan really impressed us with his knowledge and plan of action for our jumpers." said Rider Head Coach Bob Hamer.  "He has experienced success as a student-athlete and we are very excited to have him lead our jumpers on the next steps in their development."

Breen previously served as an assistant coach at his alma mater, Lacey Township, where he was a New Jersey State runner-up during his high school career.
