LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – The Rider University women's swimming and diving team had multiple event champions Saturday, but ultimately fell, 176-123, to MAAC preseason favorites, Fairfield. The Broncs fall to 0-2 on the season, while the Stags improve to 2-0.
The Bronc women won five events in the meet.
Casey McLaughlin (Ramsey, NJ/Ramsey) got Rider on the board early, winning the 1,000-free with a time of 10:43.37.
Hannah Yemec continued the strong start to her career, winning the 200-fly by over a full second in 2:10.97, the 100-free with a time of 54.51, and the 100-fly by nearly two full seconds in 58.32.
Lea Opdyke (Ocala, FL/West Port) provided the final win for the Broncs winning the 500-free by stopping the clock at 5:17.77.

- Opdyke took second with
Megan Smith (Philadelphia, PA/Nazareth Academy) finishing third in the 200-free. Smith later finished third in the 500-free.

Chastity Ruatos took third in the 100-back and second in the 200-back.

Suriya Pathammavong (Rochester, NY/Churchville Chili) and
Sarah Fondacaro (Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) swam two-three in the 100-breast. Pathammavong also took second in the 200-breast.
- McLaughlin also claimed third in the 200-fly and second in the 200-IM.

Connar Melcher (Mohnton, PA/Governor Mifflin) swam third in the 50-free.

Maiti O'Connor (South Plainfield, NJ/The Wardlaw-Hartridge School) was third on the 3-meter.

Karyn Creelman (Mohnton, PA/Governor Mifflin) and
Maddy Altieri (Schenectady, NY/Guilderland) finished two-three on the 1-meter.
