RIVERDALE, NY - The Rider University women's soccer team was able to pick up its second win in MAAC play as it defeated the Manhattan Jaspers, 1-0, on the road Wednesday night. The Broncs have now won back-to-back games in conference play, following their MAAC-opening loss to Canisius. With the win, Rider moves to 5-3-2 and 2-1-0 in conference play while dropping the Jaspers to 2-4-1 and 0-2-0 in the MAAC.
The contest's lone goal was scored by
Lindsey Maslow (Hanover, MA/Hanover HS) in the game's 59th minute. Maslow's fourth goal of the year ties her for the team lead with
Makenzie Rodrigues (Seattle, WA/Forest Ridge), who picked up the helper on the game's only score.
Ellie Sciancalepore (Randolph, NJ/Randolph) also was able to blank the Jaspers for the second time in her career following last year's 1-0 victory in Lawrenceville. The keeper from Randolph, NJ was excellent in goal making four saves en route to her MAAC-leading fifth shutout of the season.
