ALBANY, NY - Lindsey Maslow (Hanover, MA/Hanover HS) recorded the first goal of the game in the 24th minute and Ellie Sciancalepore (Randolph, NJ/Randolph HS) made nine saves, but UAlbany freshman Emily Jozak scored her first career hat trick as the Great Danes defeated the Broncs, 3-1, Wednesday night at Bob Ford Field. The previously unbeaten Broncs fall to 3-1, while the Great Danes earned their first win of the season to improve to 1-4.
Despite much possession from the Great Danes, the Broncs were able to score a goal in the 24th minute from Maslow that landed in the upper right 90 of the net. Emily Jozak scored goals in the 40th, 42nd, and 50th minutes of the game for the Great Danes. Sciancalepore played a great defensive game only giving up three goals compared to the 12 shots she faced in goal.
The Broncs look to bounce back this weekend, when they face Temple in their home opener Saturday at 7 p.m. on Ben Cohen Field.
