WILLIAMSVILLE, NY – The Rider University men's tennis team was defeated, 7-0, by the Niagara Purple Eagles, Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the Broncs fall to 2-8, 0-2 MAAC, while the Purple Eagles improve to 12-7, 3-2 MAAC.
The Purple Eagles opened with the first point after sweeping the doubles.
"Tough day today but we really competed well. Every match was competitive and the team was there for each other every step of the way," said Rider Head Coach
Tom Battaglia. "As a program that is rebuilding that's all I can ask for. Had a pretty bad injury at the end and we are just hoping for good news. That's where our thoughts are right now."
The Purple Eagles continued with their resolute 7-0 victory after winning the six matches against the Broncs.
The Broncs return to action Monday, April 11
th when they journey to Monmouth to face off in West Long Branch, NJ. Matches are set to begin at noon.
