LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ –
The Rider University men's tennis team was defeated 5-2 against the Marist Red Foxes, Tuesday morning. With the loss, the Broncs fall to 2-11, 0-5 MAAC, while the Red Foxes improve to 3-11, 1-5 MAAC.
The Broncs took the doubles with two match wins.
Pablo Salar Carrera and Jamie de Jaraiz, earned their win in two sets, while
Peter Komosinski and
Nicholas Salazar took their match in one set to put the Broncs up 1-0 going into the singles.
"Just an incredible effort on the court. Men went up 1-0 after doubles and fought brilliantly in singles." Said Rider Head Coach
Tom Battaglia.
The Red Foxes would earn the win through after taking five or six matches in the singles. Salazar earning a win in his singles match to solidify the day.
"Close to taking it to 3 sets on court 3 and a close 3 setter on 4. We can leave here with our heads held high. We played together, that's all I can ask for," said Battaglia.
The Broncs return to action Saturday, April 16
th when they travel to Fairfield in Fairfield, CT Matches are set to begin at 12:00P.M.
