LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – The Rider University women's tennis team fell 6-1, against the Quinnipiac Bobcats, Tuesday afternoon. With the loss, the Broncs fall to 3-7 (0-4 MAAC), while the Bobcats improve to 10-7 (4-0 MAAC).
The Bobcats swept the doubles before having to battle it out in the singles. In the singles, two matches went to the third set, one resulting in
Ally Garofoli's victory. But, the Broncs would default on one match, sealing the 6-1 Bobcat victory.
"Probably one of the best singles efforts we had all season. Our women went toe to toe with them," said Rider Head Coach
Tom Battaglia. "Really encouraging to see that kind of effort from both teams. Tennis is a marathon and we are starting to see some real positive results from all of the hard work they are putting in."
The Broncs return to action Thursday, April 14
, when they host Marist in Lawrenceville, NJ. Matches are set to begin at 1 p.m.
