DETROIT, MI –
Quinn Kinner won in the first round before heading to the consolation bracket along with
Richie Koehler as they battle in the NCAA Tournament representing Rider University Wrestling Team in the Little Caesars Arena.
Kinner opened the tournament with a win over former Ohio State teammate Dylan D'Emilio with a 3-0 decision. In the round of 16, he faced #1 seed Nick Lee of Penn State but fell by a 9-2 decision. Kinner will enter the consolation bracket on Friday.
Koehler fell by technical fall to third-seeded Michael McGee from Arizona State in the opening round, 18-3 in 6:49. Koehler entered the wrestlebacks, facing off against Dom Zaccone of Campbell and came back with a technical fall of his own to advance, 19-4 in 6:51. In the second round of consolations, Koehler faced off against Brayden Palmer from Chattanooga and came away with another victory to advance with a 4-2 decision.
