The Spartans scored 10 unanswered runs to begin the game, plating runs in each of the four innings they came to the dish. UNCG opened the scoring with two in the first, added three in the second, a single run in the third and four more in the fourth. UNCG finished with the same seven hits that the Broncs had, but took half of their runs were unearned due to six Broncs errors.

Rider scored its only run in the top of the fifth. Elena Gonzalez (Ashburn, VA/Stone Bridge) doubled to get things started, took third on a wild pitch and scored on Stansfield's groundout. Two more Broncs would reach safely in the inning, but the single run was all Rider could score, ending the game in five innings.
