LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – Brendan O'Donnell of the Rider University baseball team was named a 2023 Collegiate Baseball Third-Team Preseason All-American on Monday.
O'Donnell had a fantastic junior season, setting the Broncs single-season home run record with 20 home runs, including four in the MAAC Tournament to earn All-Tournament Team honors after being named to the All-MAAC Second Team following the regular season. O'Donnell also led the Broncs in runs (44), doubles (11), and RBIs (58). His 58 RBIs finished two shy of Rider's program record. Not just an offensive weapon, O'Donnell had eight outfield assists during the year.
A one-time MAAC Player of the Week honoree during the season, O'Donnell earned the nod after the spring break trip, during which he homered in four-straight games, the most of any player under current head coach
Dr. Barry Davis.
