WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- After a week off from competitive racing, the Rider University cross country teams are set for the 2022 MAAC Cross Country Championships this Saturday. Siena is hosting the event at The Crossings of Colonie in Loudonville, NY. The day kicks off with the men's race at 11 a.m. and is followed by the women's race at 12 p.m. The men's race will be an 8K and the women will compete on a 6K course.
- The top-15 individual runners on the men's and women's sides will earn All-MAAC honors. The top-five freshman finishers for the men and women will be named to the MAAC All-Rookie Team.

- The Rider men were picked third and the women were tabbed fourth in the MAAC Preseason Coaches' Poll.

- The 2021 MAAC Championships were contested at Disney's Wide World of Sports complex in Lake Buena Vista, FL. Both teams finished fifth.
Teagan Schein-Becker earned All-MAAC honors, finishing eighth for the women, while
Sarah Eskew was fourth among rookie runners to take All-Rookie Team honors.
Noah Taylor,
Iain Taylor and
Tamrat Snyder finished second, third and fifth among first-year men's cross country runners to also earn All-Rookie Team.

- Schein-Becker has led the women's team in all four races she's run this season, including a second-place finish at the Jasper Fall XC Invitational. She also finished fifth at Paul Short Run Brown Race, when she ran a season-best 6K race time of 20:58.9.

Oliva de la Torre Coca and
Jordan O'Neill have also run well for the Broncs this season. de la Torre Coca finished just over a second behind Schein-Becker at the Penn State National Open, while also placing 10
th at the Jasper Fall XC Invitational, where O'Neill finished a spot back in 11
th. O'Neill also ran a career-best 6K of 22:11.2 at the Paul Short Run Brown Race.

Noah Taylor has led the men's cross country team in three of four races he's taken part in. His top finish came when he finished third at the Jasper Fall XC Invitational. He also led the Broncs with a 12th place finish at the Siena Invitational, while taking 37th in a field of over 400 harriers at the Paul Short Run Men's College Brown 8K.

Gobi Thurairajah has been a consistent finisher for the Broncs this season, finishing second on the team behind Taylor for fifth place overall at the Jasper Fall XC invitational, before also being the Broncs' second finisher at the Paul Short Run Men's College Brown 8K in 26:42.3. The Broncs' top finisher that day was Snyder, who's come on strong late in the year, running the Paul Short Run in a career-best 24:42.3 and was also the Broncs' top finisher at the Penn State National Open in 26:17.5.
