Austin Devereux (Brielle, NJ/Manasquan) has been selected to the Division I PING All-Northeast Region Team, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced this Memorial Day Weekend. The honor gives Rider an All-Region selection for the second-straight year after
Jake Sollon was honored in 2020 after not having an honoree since 2010 (Eric LeFante).
A three-time All-MAAC honoree, Devereux earned an automatic berth into the NCAA Kingston Springs Regional by virtue of winning the individual title at MAAC Championships, April 23-25, at Disney's Magnolia Golf Course in Lake Buena Vista, FL. Devereux became the Broncs' first-ever McLeod Trophy winner, taking the title by shooting six under par in the rain-shortened, 45-hole tournament. Devereux also won the MAAC Spring Kickoff, leading the Broncs to the team title by nine strokes. In the Summer of 2020, Devereux won the 119
th New Jersey State Golf Association Amateur Championship.
Devereux posted a 73.15 stroke average so far this season, with seven of his 17 rounds being played at or under par. His season and career-low round was a 66 fired in the season opener, March 6 at the MAAC Spring Kickoff en route to medalist honors. He also shot 68 in the second round of the tournament, while breaking 70 with a 68 at the Abarta Coca-Cola Collegiate Invitational on April 19 and a 69 in the middle round at MAAC Championships on April 24.
Devereux became Rider's first participant at NCAA Championships since Rider Hall of Famer William "Buzz" Costello in 1964.
