LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – The Rider University men's tennis team fell to Siena, 7-0, Friday afternoon. With the loss, the Broncs fall to 1-9 (1-4 MAAC), while the Saints are now 3-3 (1-2 MAAC).
The Saints swept all three doubles matches.
Paul Lenz (Ratingen, Germany/Suitbertus Gymnasium) and
Nicholas Salazar (Palmetto Bay, FL/Westminster Christian School) came closest to winning at No. 3, but fell, 6-4, to Darek Kuczynski and Geovanny Mendoza.
In singles, Lenz came closest to a victory, but fell in three sets at No. 4 to Matt Nardone, 6-2, 4-6, 13-11.
Benjamin Tauber (Bethlehem, PA/Nazareth Area) was also highly competitive at No. 5, but fell to Mendoza, 6-4, 7-5.
The Broncs currently don't have another match scheduled. However, a previously postponed MAAC match against Marist could be made up at a date still to be determined.
