Men's Golf 15th After 2nd Round at UConn Invitational at GreatHorse

van der Nat fires even-par 72

HAMPDEN, MA – Rick van der Nat (Noordwijk, The Netherlands/Visser 't Hooft) fired an even-par 72 to lead the Rider University men's golf team at the UConn Invitational at GreatHorse Monday. The Broncs shot 308 on the day and sit 15th heading into Tuesday's third and final round.

Austin Devereux (Brielle, NJ/Manasquan) shot 76 (+4) for the second-straight day, turning in the Broncs' second-best score of the day. Joey Lostombo (Flemington, NJ/Hunterdon Central) was next with a 78 (+6), while Shawn Blandine (Ringwood, NJ/Don Bosco) and Zander Gibson (Concord, OH/Notre Dame Cathedral Latin) each carded 82's (+10).    

NOTES
- No team broke par Monday. Iona came closest with a four-over 293.
- Rhode Island continues to hold the team lead at -1 for the tournament, following up its six-under 282 yesterday with a five-over 293 today.
- Iona's Justin Burkhamer and UConn's Caleb Manuel lead in the individual field at 138 (-6) for the tournament.
- Rider (304-308=612, +36, 15th) is one of three MAAC programs competing in the tournament, joining Iona (302-292=594, +18, 6th) and Siena (299-296=595, +19, 7th).
- Devereux has posted the second-best score of the tournament on the Par 5's (-3).
- van der Nat's 25 par's through two rounds are second-most in the tournament.
