ELKTON, MD – Delaware won all three doubles flights and all six singles flights in straight sets to defeat the Rider University men's tennis team, 7-0, Sunday afternoon at Elkton Indoor Tennis. With the loss, the Broncs fall to 1-7, while the Blue Hens improve to 12-1.
Griffin Clark (Lititz, PA/Manheim Township) and
Peter Komosinski (Lake Hopatcong, NJ/Laurel Springs) were most competitive for the Broncs at No. 2 doubles, falling to Nathan Benyowitz and Milo Nagle, 6-3. Komosinski also nearly took a set at No. 5 singles, but fell to Curran Verma, 6-1, 7-6 (5).
Clark and
Adrian Tsui (Roslyn Heights, NY/Roslyn) were also highly-competitive at Nos. 3 and 4 singles. Both fell by 6-3, 6-4, margins, with Clark falling to Nagle at No. 3 and Tsui being edged by Luis Marcano.
The Broncs return to action Tuesday, March 24, when they play host to Wagner at 3 p.m.
