Men's Tennis Defeated by Holy Cross, 6-1

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ - Pablo Salar Carrera (Barcelona, Spain/Ies Jaume Balmes) won at both No. 1 singles and doubles, but the Rider University men's tennis team fell to Holy Cross, 6-1, on Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the Broncs fall to 1-2 while the Crusaders improve to 3-0.

Salar Carrera took a highly competitive match at first singles by the score of 7-5, 6-4 over Will Chen and first doubles with Adrian Tsui (Roslyn Heights, NY/Roslyn) with a 6-4 result. Tsui, 6-7 (4-7), 6-3, 10-2 and Griffin Clark (Lititz, PA/Manheim Township), 1-6, 6-7 (6-8) forced tiebreaks during each of their matches, but ultimately fell. 

Rider will return to action on Tuesday, October 1 when St. Francis Brooklyn comes to campus for a 2 pm match. The Broncs won last year's meeting by a 4-3 margin.
