What You Need To Know
- The Rider Softball team returns to action Saturday and Sunday, when it plays host to local rivals Wagner and Monmouth. The games will be broadcast live on ESPN3.
- The Broncs have found success against Ivy League foes, posting two of their four wins against Penn and Princeton.
- Sophomore pitcher
Debra Jones spun a gem in the circle on Wednesday at Princeton, allowing just one earned run on four hits without walking a batter. She struck out six. She's now won two of her last three appearances, including a relief stint in which she hurled 2.2 perfect innings against Niagara. Â
- Freshman pitcher
Brooklyn Trujillo impressed early, collecting the Broncs' other two wins in the circle.

Melanie Wilkinson had a two-game stretch to remember on March 24 at Central Connecticut. The sophomore went 3-for-5 with three home runs and nine RBI's. Entering the game through parts of two seasons, Wilkinson had totaled just one home run and 13 RBI's over 60 games played.

Kelsey Marigliano leads current Broncs with a .289 average, 13 runs scored and three stolen bases.
- The Broncs were successful on their first nine stolen-base attempts of the season. Marigliano has stolen three bases, while
Lani Moreno has a pair of thefts.

Brianna Parisio have one stolen base each.
- The Broncs were picked 10
th in the MAAC Preseason Coaches Poll and
Elyse Cuttic was named a Preseason All-MAAC honoree. Cuttic earned All-MAAC Second Team in 2018 as DP.
- Rider owns a 19-11 edge in the all-time series against Wagner. However, the Seahawks have won the last six, including doubleheader sweeps in each of the last two seasons and single games in 2013 and 2016. The Broncs' last win over Wagner came March 17, 2012, at the Rebel Spring Games in Kissimmee, FL.
- Monmouth leads the all-time series, 30-27, including a sweep last year in West Long Branch. In 2017, the two teams split on Herb and Joan Young Field.
- The Seahawks have won three of their last five, including a sweep of Manhattan on March 27.
- Karen Prihoda leads Wagner with a .372 average and 28 runs scored, while Natalie Del Ponte (28 RBI's) and Kaila Smith (21 RBI's) have been effective at driving in runs. Lauren Serrato has also hit .339 with 15 runs scored.
- Kayla Hooks leads the Wagner pitching staff in appearances (18), starts (10) and innings pitched (47.2). Ciera Luna and Eve Harvey have also made seven starts apiece.
- Defending MAAC Champion Monmouth swept the league weekly honors following a 4-0 opening to league play last week. Kayla Rosado took Player of the Week, Alyssa Irons was Pitcher of the Week and Lindsey Baron was Rookie of the Week.
- Rosado leads the Hawks with a .341 average and 20 RBI's, while Baron has hit .318 with a team-high 11 doubles, five home runs, 27 runs scored and 15 RBI's. Sam Tomasetti (.302, 22 runs, 18 RBI's) and Amber Wozniak (.289, 15 RBI's) have also made strong contributions.
- Irons has been one of the MAAC's top pitchers this year, posting a 13-7 record with a 1.71 ERA and 99 strikeouts in 123.0 innings pitched. She pitched Monmouth's first perfect game since 2006 this past Friday against Niagara. Â
