HELLERTOWN, PA –
Griffin Smith (Holland, PA/Council Rock South) shot a one-over 73 to lead the Rider University men's golf team on Day 1 at the Abarta Coca Cola Lehigh Valley Invite Sunday. The Broncs shot 3-6 on the day.
Jake Sollon (Venetia, PA/Peters Township) was next at a five-over 77, while
Andrew Forjan (York, PA/York Catholic) and
Nathan Bazant (Venetia, PA/Trinity [California (PA)] each shot 78.
Austin Devereux (Brielle, NJ/Manasquan) rounded out the Broncs' scoring with a 79, while
Thomas Durkin (Suffield, CT/Suffield) fired a 78 while playing as an individual.
Colgate leads the team scoring with a 290, while Saint Peter's shot 294 to tie for second, tops among MAAC schools.

- Smith also played the Par 3's at even par, also good for third in the round.
- Smith had a team-best four birdies on the round, while Bazant had three.
