#23 Princeton Defeats Women's Soccer, 2-0

Carbonell ties career high with 12 saves

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – Sophomore goalkeeper Carmen Carbonell (Valencia, Spain/Guadalaviar School) matched her career high with 12 saves, but the Rider University women's soccer team fell to nationally-ranked No. 23 Princeton, 2-0, Thursday night on Ben Cohen Field. With the loss, the Broncs slip to 2-2-1, while the Tigers are now 4-1-0.

The Tigers got both of their goals in the first half, with Gabi Juarez scoring the game winner in the 15th minute, finishing a cross from Abby Givens. In the 41st minute, Emily Hilliard-Arce arced a shot from outside the 18-yard box past Carbonell. Sophia Gulati assisted on the tally.

The Broncs generated chances in the second half, but couldn't find the back of the net.

Obviously in that first half, with the quality of players that they've got, they showed a lot of our weaknesses and what we needed to address.
