Austin Devereux (Brielle, NJ/Manasquan) shot an even-par 72 to pull into a tie for seventh at the MAAC Championships on Saturday. The Broncs maintained their position in fifth place with a second-round 304.
Freshman
Andrew Forjan (York, PA/York Catholic) shot 75 for the second-straight day and stands tied for 10
th with a two-day total of 150, a stroke behind Devereux. Senior
Eder Moreno (Madrid, Spain/Lander/Santa Helena) carded a 77 and sits at 152 in a tie for 16
th. Moreno had a team-high four birdies, but was plagued by nine bogeys.
Iona shot 294 a day after carding a 295 to take a commanding 14-stroke lead on the field. Day 1 leader Siena shot 310 on day two and holds second place at 603. Manhattan (604), Monmouth (608), Rider (610), Fairfield (612), Saint Peter's (613), Canisius (618) and Niagara (631) round out the team lead scoring.
NOTES
- Through two rounds, Rider has posted the second-best score on the Par 4's (+33).
- Devereux's -1 performance on Par 3's thus far is the second-best in the tournament.
- Forjan and Devereux have both shot +4 on the Par 4's, the third-best score in the tournament.
- Moreno has played the Par 5's at even par.
