What You Need To Know
- Rider has won three of its last four, including a doubleheader sweep Wednesday at Lafayette.
- Quinnipiac (10-16) split two doubleheaders last weekend at home against Wagner and UMass Lowell.
- Freshman catcher
Keegan Zavodnik (Murrieta, CA/Lakeside) has been red hot of late, reaching safely in six of the last seven games with base hits in 12 of her last 21 at bats. She was named MAAC Rookie of the Week on March 26.
- Senior outfielder Toni Niño (Adelanto, CA/Silverado) scored a team-high five runs in a doubleheader sweep at Lafayette on March 28. She scored six runs in all of 2017 and already has a team-high 21 this season. Rider's team leaders had 12 runs scored last season.
- Rider's RBI leader this season has also already eclipsed the full-season total of last year's leaders (12).
Maddy Chain (Gloucester, NJ/Gloucester City) currently has 15 RBI's.
- Sophomore pitcher
Elyse Cuttic (Easton, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) has been effective both in the circle (team-leading 4.81 ERA, three wins) and in the batter's box (.314 average, team-leading three home runs).
- Erin Larsen leads the Bobcats' offense, hitting .394 with five home runs, 15 runs scored and 21 RBI's. She's also walked a team-high 14 times for a .488 on-base percentage.
- Casey Herzog has pitched more than half of Quinnipiac's innings this season, posting a 9-6 record with a 1.42 ERA and 81 strikeouts in 98.2 innings pitched.
