Women's Cross Country Gets Several Personal Bests at Princeton

The Broncs ended up in 20th-place

PRINCETON, NJ – The Rider University women's cross country team finished in 20th–place at the 2018 Princeton XC Invitational on Friday afternoon. The 6K event featured a field of 22 teams and was contested at West Windsor Fields.

Villanova won on the women's side with 21 points, while the Broncs ended up with 498 total points to land five points back of UMBC in 19th.

Junior Peri Pavicic (Princeton, NJ/Hopewell Valley Central) was the top-finisher for Rider for the third time in three races this fall. Pavicic ended up in 55th-place with a time of 22:45.4. She broke 22:50.0 for the second straight 6K race.

Junior Kristin Siegle (Estell Manor, NJ/Buena Regional) and Teagan Schein-Becker (Trappe, PA/Perkiomen Valley) were the next two Broncs to cross the finish line. Siegle ended with a time of 23:19.7, while Schein-Becker finished at 23:30.4. Siegle's time was her fastest of the season and the best 6K mark of her young career, while Schein-Becker set a collegiate-best 6K (topping her previous best mark set last race by just over one second).

Senior Katie Chinery (Whiting, NJ/Manchester Township) and freshman Hailey Arguien (Churchville, NJ/Churchville-Chili) were the final two Rider harriers to score on Friday evening. Chinery ended at 24:04.6, while Arguien finished with a mark of 24:13.0.

- Sophomore Shea Brennan registered a time of 26:38.3.
- Senor Hannah Gallo posted a time of 28:26.7.

UP NEXT
Rider returns to action on Saturday, October 27, to take part in the 2018 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Cross Country Championship. The event is hosted is by Siena and will be contested at the Crossings at Colonie.
