ANNAPOLIS, MD – The Rider University swimming and diving team returned to action for the first time since the MAAC Championships on Saturday, opening competition at the two-day ECAC Open Swimming and Diving Championships in Lejeune Hall and hosted by Navy.
Through 10 events, the Rider women are in 13th with a score of 15 points, while the men are in fifth with 74 points.
In the 200 free relay on the men's side, the Rider quartet of junior
Maciej Paz (Garfield, NJ/Paramus Catholic), senior
William Molloy (Toms River, NJ/Toms River HS North), sophomore
Lucas Musselman (Timonium, MD/Loyola Blakefield) and sophomore
Vincent Gibbons (North Brunswick, NJ/North Brunswick) took home a third-place finish with a time of 1:22.45. The quartet accounted for 32 points.
In his final trip to the ECAC Championships, senior
Sam Cramer (Escondido, CA/San Pasqual) finished third in the 500 free with a mark of 4:28.98. Musselman also had a sixth-place finish in the 200 individual medley with a time of 1:50.36. Cramer picked up 16 points for the Broncs and Musselman accounted for 13.
In the diving events, freshman
Meg Tomayko (Murfreesboro, TN/Siegel) made the most of her first ECAC appearance with a fourth-place finish with a score in the finals of 227.19. Tomayko earned all 15 of the Bronc points on day one.
Rider closes out the ECAC Open Swimming and Diving Championships on Saturday, March 4.
