What You Need to Know
- Rider opens its home slate on Tuesday afternoon against Lafayette. The Broncs and Leopards are playing for the third straight season with the team's splitting the last two meetings.
- Last year, Lafayette jumped out to an early 3-0 lead and held on for a 9-6 win.
- For the first time in program history, the Broncs are playing a game in the state of New Jersey in the month of February. Last year's tilt with Lafayette came on March 1 in Flemington.  
- Rider started the season with a four-game series at Charlotte last weekend.
- Kyle Johnson and Mike Volaski are tied for the team-lead with four hits after the weekend. Johnson also added a stolen base in his collegiate debut.
- Harrison McClure has recorded an RBI in back-to-back games. He also leads the team with a .500 slugging percentage. McClure had the team's first homer of the year, a solo shot, as well versus the 49ers.
- On opening day of the 2017 season for Rider, senior lefty Nick Margevicius tossed 7-plus innings and got a no decision against Charlotte. He struck out three hitters and scattered just four hits, while walking only two batters. Margevicius posted a WHIP of 0.86 and an ERA of 1.92 in his first start of the 2017 season. He left the game with the Broncs leading 2-0.
- Out of the bullpen, Jordan Silverman worked 1.2 innings and allowed just one run for Rider. Also in relief, Andrew Tumbelty tossed .2 innings and did not surrender an earned run.
