IOWA CITY, IA - The No. 22 Rider Wrestling Team suffered its first loss of the season to the perennial powerhouse and nationally-ranked No. 7 Iowa Hawkeyes, 35-6, Friday evening at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
 
The two Rider victories came from 17^th-ranked Tyson Dippery (Harrisburg, PA/Central Dauphin) at 141 pounds and fourth-ranked Chad Walsh (Cherry Hill, NJ/Camden Catholic) at 165. Dippery defeated Vince Turk by a score of 8-4, while Walsh was victorious over 16^th-ranked Kaleb Young, 5-4.
 
Gary Dinmore (Skillman, NJ/Hunterdon Central) and B.J. Clagon (Toms River, NJ/Toms River HS South) fought hard in losses to Hawkeyes ranked in the top three at 149 and 157, respectively. Dinmore fell to returning NCAA finalist and second-ranked Brandon Sorensen, while Clagon faced returning third-place finisher Michael Kemerer.
 
The Broncs will stay in state and travel to Ames for a matchup with the Cyclones of Iowa State on Sunday. Wrestling is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. (ET).

- This was the first-ever dual meet between the Iowa Hawkeyes and Rider Broncs.
- Iowa was the highest-ranked team the Broncs have faced since they took on Penn State in December of 2015. The Nittany Lions were ranked No. 1 at the time.
- Including Walsh's victory over Young, the Broncs were faced with a lineup that had five wrestlers ranked in the top 20 at their respective weight classes.
