LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – Multiple wrestling publications have projected the Rider University wrestling program to finish in the Top 25 at Nationals once again this season. Fresh off a 21
st-place finish at the 2017 NCAA Division I Championships with a pair of All-Americans in
Chad Walsh (Cherry Hill, NJ/Camden Catholic) and
Ryan Wolfe (New Castle, DE/Caravel Academy), the Broncs are picked 16th by Intermat and 22
nd in both FloWrestling and Trackwrestling's Tournament Rankings, while WrestleStat tabbed the Broncs 18
th in its Tournament Rankings and 24
th in its dual rankings. The USA Today/NWCA Coaches Poll projects the Broncs at No. 23, while Intermat has also ranked the Broncs 24th in its dual rankings.
The Broncs return the two-time All-American Walsh at 165 and fellow national qualifiers BJ Clagon (Toms River, NJ/Toms River South) at 157 and
Michale Fagg-Daves (Somerset, NJ/Franklin) at 184. Already an All-American in 2015, Clagon came one win by one point away from his second All-American accolade last season. Both Walsh and Clagon were EWL Champions in their respective weight classes in 2017. Intermat tabs Walsh fifth in his weight class, while Clagon is seventh and Fagg-Daves is 20th.
